Festive traditions

We spent the weekend holed up in a beautiful, old hotel in Sutton Coldfield. Child-free and ready to eat, drink (lots) and be merry.

It’s a family tradition that we go out, eat (too much), drink (far too much) and swap some early presents with my parents and my sister. Richard and Jak are honourary family members for the night. We have crackers, quizzes, cards, prizes, presents and lots of laughs. It is just magical.

And this year, instead of our usual restaurants, we stayed over in a hotel. And shared breakfast (and hangovers) as well. What a wonderful time of year.

I wonder what traditions I’ll make with my own little family? I’d love the boys to have something (other than Christmas Day) to look forward to each year. What traditions do you share with your families?
